Po vojne

Potichu upadám do ticha,
Na poli zbytočnej vojny.
Smrteľné hračky vypľúvajú olovo.
Kde chlapci, ktorí boli našimi vojakmi, vykrvácali.
Vojnové kone a vojnové stroje.

Preklínajú meno slobody,
Pochodujú, akoby sa mali
Zmiešať so špinu a krvou našich bratov.

V bahne a daždi,
Prečo vlastne bojujeme?
Je to hodné tej bolesti?
Je to hodné umierania?
Kto na seba zoberie vinu?
Prečo vlastne začali vojnu?
Otázky, ktoré sa opäť vynárajú.
Mali by sme cez to všetko bojovať?

Kedysi bolo toto pole orané človekom,
tu zasial svoj malý sen.
Teraz sú tu roztrúsené telá, ruky a nohy,
Yperitový plyn a rastúce ostnaté drôty.
Každá chvíľka sa zdá dlhá ako rok,
Už mi nezostalo síl na plač.
Kamaráti tu ležia mŕtvi, alebo zomierajúci
Ostal som sám a pýtam sa prečo?
